Karel Novotný, Jiří Koleňák: Modern management education, CNN Prima NEWS

How can we recognise high quality management education today, and what makes it different from traditional academic models? Jiří Koleňák, CEO of NEWTON University Group, and Karel Novotný, Head of the NEWTON Business Accelerator, mentor, marketing lecturer, and founder of Brand Family, discussed this topic in a morning interview on CNN Prima NEWS.

They emphasised that meaningful management education is not about collecting tools, but about working with personal purpose, self reflection, and real life situations that reshape leadership thinking. According to them, education only makes sense when it can be immediately applied in practice.

The discussion also highlighted the importance of community, strong connections between students, alumni, and mentors, and the practical impact of study. Graduates leave not only with a degree, but with transformed projects, strategies, and businesses.

The interview was broadcast on CNN Prima NEWS

Czech e-shops have had an exceptionally strong year. Sales exceeded CZK 200 billion for the first time, with growth outpacing experts’ expectations. Czech consumers are increasingly buying electronics, home and garden products, and beauty items online, while the importance of discount events and parcel lockers continues to rise. Our economist Jan Boubín explains in a report on TV Nova that the growth is driven mainly by a combination of rising wages, price stabilisation, and greater consumer confidence. According to experts, online shopping will continue to strengthen, supported in part by the growing role of artificial intelligence in customer decision-making.

Survey: What did your university studies give you?

What remains when the textbooks are closed and the diploma is handed in? A survey by the weekly magazine Respekt shows that the greatest value of university education lies not only in knowledge itself, but in the ability to think in context, work with uncertainty, and meet people who fundamentally shape one’s professional and personal direction. Their perspectives are shared by graduates of Czech and international universities, including a student of NEWTON University.
