While most investment funds wait for ready-made unicorns, NEWTON University Angels focuses on the very beginning. Instead of investing millions, the fund supports early-stage founders – often students of NEWTON University – with smaller investments, mentorship, and close cooperation.

In an interview for CzechStartups.gov.cz, Michal Tesař, co-founder of the fund, shares why he prefers to co-create rather than simply oversee. He talks about embracing risk as a natural part of his work and explains how investing can become a shared learning journey – for both entrepreneurs and students involved in the process.

Now in its third year, NEWTON University Angels has already invested in eight promising projects, including the Believer app for faith communities, the men’s cosmetics brand Bogroti, and the dating app Take Up.
