How do internships work at Sting University, and what makes them different?

All our students – something we take great pride in – complete a mandatory internship during their studies. The reason is simple: we want them to try in real life what they learn at school.

In real life, some things work a little (and sometimes even completely) differently from how they are described in academic literature. And although we do our best to provide you with up-to-date information and experience, we consider practical training an essential part of your studies.

What are the benefits of an internship during your studies?

For example, once you graduate, you will have no problem finding a job. From experience, we know that our students receive interesting offers or start their own businesses even before completing their studies.

After finishing your internships and placements, you will also receive a certificate that will serve as a valuable reference in your professional CV.

Internships and placements are also positively perceived by part-time students.

Although many of them already have some practical experience and can have it recognised, they may still—after agreement with our partners—try out how things work elsewhere.

We are very pleased that these study activities often develop into interesting professional and business collaborations over time.

Doing an internship does not mean working for free

Yes, theoretically, if you have an inactive student “on placement” who is not interested in anything, it makes sense that they are “working” for free.

But our students are nothing like that! They are usually financially rewarded for their work. They often work under agreements to perform work or employment agreements, or even part-time.

And if they still do not receive financial compensation for their work, they have the opportunity to gain unique know-how that they might otherwise never have access to. The benefit of such an internship has enormous value and will undoubtedly pay off greatly in the future.

You do not have to complete your internship only in the Czech Republic

If the Czech Republic feels too small for you, we are very happy to send you out into the world to gain international experience. As our students (and even as graduates), you can receive financial support of up to EUR 600 per month for your work placement through the Erasmus+ programme.

And we saved the best for last

You surely know that tuition is paid at private universities. Ours has long been among the lowest, but what would you say if you didn’t have to pay it at all? No, we’re not joking.

We are proud to have found partners (and more are joining over time) who trust our students and offer to pay their tuition fees for them. The specific terms of study financing are then agreed individually between the student and our partner.

We will, of course, keep you informed about this opportunity. You can always find up-to-date information and offers on our website as well as on our social media channels. So don’t forget to follow us there too.
