Conversations on the grass, campervans and a chance to catch up with the people who make NEWTON what it is. This year’s All Hearts Meeting summer conference opened the academic year with questions that matter to every student: how to combine academic rigour with a supportive approach, and how to use technology to make more time for what matters.

A summer evening, informal conversations and the pleasure of being together. This year, NEWTON University Group’s annual conference had a festival feel. It was a chance to meet away from classrooms and offices and talk about what brings us together and where we want to go.

For our students, alumni and partners, that direction takes shape through the connections between teaching, professional practice, research and community. People remain at the heart of it, along with their development and the responsibility they take for their decisions.

Responsibility in everyday university life

As NEWTON develops, so does our responsibility for the environment we create together. Every interaction matters, from your first visit to a campus and your conversations with the student services team to your experience in the classroom and during exams.

We want you to feel able to ask questions, debate ideas and learn from mistakes in a respectful, professional and fair environment. We combine high academic standards with support that helps you develop your knowledge, independence and judgement.

AI that serves people

The changes brought about by artificial intelligence were another theme of the gathering. Our aim is to use technology where it can make routine work easier, leaving more time for thinking, discussion and collaboration.

That is why situations drawn from business play an important part in management education. They give you the chance to practise making decisions and explore their consequences. Alongside your use of technology, you develop critical thinking, a broader understanding of the issues and a responsible approach to leading people.

Professional education at NEWTON Business School also offers opportunities to develop at different stages of your career. These include international experiences. We want to be a partner you can turn to long after you have completed your studies.

International experience and research

NEWTON’s international outlook is built on collaboration and the exchange of ideas. NEWTON University is a member of AACSB and BGA and was the only private university from the Czech Republic included in the Times Higher Education Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026. These assess universities’ contributions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

We also support talented international students through the Global Changemaker Scholarship. Bringing together people with different experiences and perspectives enriches teaching and helps us see business in a wider context.

Our research includes the work of the International Institute of Applied Management (IAMI), which focuses on strategic management, competitiveness and leadership. Connecting academic knowledge with the questions facing organisations and society is central to this work.

One example is NEWTON University’s research supported by Allwyn, which explores Generation Z’s perceptions of risk and self-control in relation to gambling. Its findings are intended to improve our understanding of young adults’ behaviour and inform more effective prevention.

A community beyond graduation

As the lights came on, the smell of the barbecue filled the air and the music started, the conversations continued. Moments like these show what community means to us: a chance to meet, share experiences and get to know one another beyond our professional roles.

With the new academic year, that energy carries into classrooms and collaborative projects. Students, lecturers, alumni and partners bring their own experiences and questions to them. The relationships that grow from these encounters can continue long after graduation.

Whether you are choosing what to study, developing your career or looking for fresh ideas for your business, we want NEWTON to give you room to take your next step. Our summer gathering reminded us that it is people who give our plans their purpose.
