Management as a Game and Self-Reflection

Management as a Game and Self-Reflection

1. 4. 2026 From NEWTON

Forget dry theory. In the Best Practices in Management course led by our lecturer Alexandra Zhereb, students learn from the best in the field. At NEWTON, we regularly invite industry professionals into our classrooms. Students of both Czech and international programmes get to test their management knowledge against market reality and expert insights.

Management as a Game and Self-Reflection

Three Worlds, One Classroom

The goal of Alexandra Zhereb’s teaching is, as she puts it: to show students that management has many faces. During the winter semester, she invited three professionals to guide young talents through various aspects of career and personal development.

  • Leonid Kushnir proved that the legendary bricks aren’t just for kids. Using the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® methodology, he sparked creativity and opened new pathways in team communication.
  • George Mamakos from Saber Interactive brought the dynamic energy of the gaming industry to the lecture. Students discovered how gamification principles and character building can be applied to building their own careers and businesses.
  • Lenka Domašinská focused on a manager's "inner engine." Her workshop on time management and burnout prevention offered students much-needed space for self-reflection in today’s fast-paced world.

Through the Eyes of Students: "We Want More Guests Like This!"

The feedback was immediate. Students especially appreciated the diversity of guests and the opportunity to hear real-world experiences in English. “It was refreshing to see how gaming elements are used in marketing or how to look at a career like choosing a game character,” one student noted in the survey. Others praised the practical tips for maintaining mental health.
